As I’ve been working with cameras I’ve been thinking more and more about surveillance. Recent developments in the news show that your web usage data is constantly being collected by private and government agencies. They’re even using microwaves to spy on you! In a counter-point I wanted to be a little more forthright about it, because to be honest I too am capturing some of your data through Google Analytics. While it asks for permission to use your camera, it forces users to be an element on the page and gives a sense that my website is surveilling the user. (If you’re on a computer with a web camera) I access your camera and if a face is detected it is placed in the masthead position.
Its one of my changing mastheads.
